Kustom with a "K"
I've been a nyc union carpenter for over 15 years now and back in 2020, work was slow. We all know why. I needed a hobby. Ive always loved Kustom Kulture. Hot rods and rock n roll. Pinstriping and custom paint jobs. I bought myself some brushes and paint and I started playing around. I created an instagram page mostly for inspiration and called myself CM Kustom Striping. Instagram introduced me to a wide variety of artists and SIGN MAKERS and re-opened my eyes to something I had left behind since I was a kid. ART. I try to incorporate the kustom style in my work whenever possible and I've kept the “K” in The name as a nod to all the things I love. CM KUSTOM LLC was officially launched in 2022. In march of 2022, I put together a woodshop program for young kids and started out in a good friend’s restaurant that had closed due to covid. Since then, CM KUSTOM WOODSHOP has grown to include after-school programs, birthday parties, summer camps and private lessons. I LOVE getting to show the kids something that they may not have had the opportunity to discover otherwise. Working with your hands is something that EVERYONE should be given the chance to do, and schools dont always offer that chance. I look forward to growing the program and being a part of the community here in Staten Island. Cheers! Chris |
